Monitoring, evaluation, accountability & learning (mEAL)
-
Links Research & Evaluation can review your systems, processes and overall strategy for monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning. We work closely with organisations to understand programme or project priorities and develop a plan to strengthen MEAL or establish a tailored and sustainable system.
-
We will spend time with your teams, in-person or remotely, to understand what will work and be sustainable to manage in the long-term. We have the capacity to visualise your project monitoring data in dash boards of tables, figures and graphs. These are easy to maintain - and Project or MEAL staff will be able to add in new indicator results and other valuable information over time, to enable tracking in real time.
-
Experienced in reviewing accountability systems, in the framework of the Core Humanitarian Standard.
-
We also conduct reviews of logframes and theory of change – this could be during a review of MEAL systems or during an evaluation or assessment.

needs assessments
&
Post distribution monitoring
-
Links Research & Evaluation designs, supports and manages detailed thematic assessments and needs assessment to support programme design and proposals to donors, such as ECHO.
-
We also support post distribution monitoring and baseline/endline studies.
-
Experienced in Rapid Gender Analysis and ensures that assessments are disaggregated by men, women, young people and children, according to what is needed.
-
Assessments include synthesis of data from a detailed desk review followed by an analysis of what information is still needed. This informs the primary data collection phase, which is planned in collaboration with the client to understand their research needs and who the stakeholders are.
-
We can also support programme teams with post distribution monitoring to support humanitarian response. This could include working collaboratively with your organisation on survey design, training of enumerators, data analysis, reporting and presenting the findings
Inclusive research and capacity sharing
-
During the planning phase of evaluations and assessments, we can hold an in-person or remote/online workshop with staff and other key stakeholders. This provides an opportunity to verify the methodology and the overall planning. A second workshop, following data collection, means that we can verify and discuss the initial results with your organisation.
-
This is also an opportunity to develop recommendations for your programmes or projects that are realistic, practical and meet strategic priorities.
-
This inclusive approach also provides an opportunity for capacity building and skill sharing with your staff in the areas of evaluations, assessments and MEAL.
-
We can also design a tailored training session for your organisation in any or these areas.
